Sandeep M Baria

This is Sandeep M Baria. I work out of the ground floor at Pitru Chhaya here in Vadodara. The landmark most people use is the fire bridge, since we are right behind it. Being on the ground floor is lucky because it stays a little cooler when the sun is hitting the building in the afternoon. Plus, I don't have to deal with any elevators or long walks up the stairs. The space is pretty basic. I’ve got my main table, some storage in the back, and enough room for a few people to sit if they need to wait for something. Living and working in Vadodara means you get used to the rhythm of the city. The sounds from the fire bridge station are part of our day. It’s not a fancy place with modern furniture or anything like that. I have some old cupboards that have been here since I started. I like the area because everything I need is close by. If I need a snack or some stationery, I just walk a few minutes. Most of my day is spent right here, checking things over and making sure everything is in order. It’s just a small, local business run by real people. We don't do anything too complicated. We just show up, do the work that needs doing, and try to keep things running smoothly for anyone who walks through the door.
