XL Plastic

XL Plastic is situated right on N.H.8, behind the Galaxy Hotel in Por. If you’re driving down the highway, you might see our sign near Survey No. 4. We make various plastic items, and the machines are running pretty much all the time. It gets quite hot inside the shed, especially during the summer months, but we’re used to the heat by now. Our team is a mix of people from around the local area who know how to handle the equipment. We don’t have a lot of fancy office space; most of our room is taken up by the raw materials and the finished products waiting to be shipped out. Being near the highway is good for us because the trucks can get in and out easily without getting stuck in heavy city traffic. We spend a lot of time making sure the molds are right and that the plastic comes out the way it’s supposed to. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving bags of pellets and stacking crates. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make products that work for the people who buy them. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the whole day fixing a machine, but that’s just part of the business. We keep things simple and focus on the day-to-day production. It’s a noisy, busy place, but it’s our workplace and we are proud of what we do.
