About Traditional – Housewares & Supplies in Vadodara
We set up shop near the Bank of India on 14th Cross. It’s right at the 6th Main in Vadodara, which is a fairly busy corner most of the week. The name of the place is Traditional, which mostly explains what we deal with here. We aren't trying to be modern or follow all the new trends that change every week. We like the old ways of doing things. The shop is a bit small, and the shelves go all the way to the ceiling, so we have to use a wooden ladder more than I’d like. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. My uncle used to run a place like this, and I just kind of took over the idea when I got older. We get a lot of people coming in asking for directions to the bank, and sometimes they stay to look around. The street noise is constant, but you get used to the honking and the scooters after a few days. We don't have a fancy computer system. Everything is written down in books mostly. It works for us. We keep the doors open to let the air move, even when it’s hot outside. It’s a bit messy behind the counter with all the paper and string, but we know where everything is. Just a regular shop on a regular street in Vadodara. We've been here a long time.
