Taj Residency, Vadodara

We are located over by Akota Gardens. It’s a nice part of Vadodara because of all the trees and people walking in the mornings. The hotel has been here a while and most people in the neighborhood know where we are. We see a lot of families coming by, especially on the weekends. The building itself is sturdy but you can tell it’s seen a few years. We do our best to keep up with the painting and the leaks that happen when it rains hard. The staff here is like a small family. Most of us have worked together for a long time. We know which rooms have the best light and which ones stay the coolest in the summer. The lobby is a bit small but it’s comfortable enough for waiting. We don’t have a massive team, just enough of us to get the cleaning done and look after the desk. Sometimes the garden gets a bit overgrown if we don't watch it. It's a pretty normal place to work and stay. We don't try to be anything we aren't. People come here because they know what to expect. We keep the keys on the rack and the water bottles filled. If someone needs a taxi, we usually know a guy who can come quickly. It’s just the way we do things here near the gardens. We hope the weather stays nice and the guests are happy with the simple rooms.
