Smita Engineers

Smita Engineers is tucked away at Plot No- 967/10 in the Makarpura GIDC area of Manjalpur. It’s a typical engineering spot where there’s more metal than furniture. We spend our days looking at drawings and trying to figure out why a part isn't fitting right. It can be frustrating, but that’s the nature of the job. Makarpura is a massive industrial zone, so there’s always a truck backing up or a siren going off somewhere. Our place isn't very big, but we make use of every inch of space we have. The walls are lined with tools and spare parts that we might need someday. We’ve been here for a while, through the good seasons and the ones where we wondered if we’d have enough work for the month. Manjalpur has grown a lot around the edges, but the GIDC stays pretty much the same—busy and dirty. We have a small team, and we mostly just focus on the task at hand. No one here wears a tie or has a big title. We’re just engineers and mechanics trying to get the dimensions right. Sometimes we stay late when a job is urgent, and we order food from the stall down the road. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. We just do our work and hope the machines keep running smooth.
