Shreya Kitchen

Running Shreya Kitchen at 6 Ajwa Road Parmanand Complex is a lot of work but it keeps us busy. Being right opposite Balaji Duplex means we see a lot of the same faces every day. The shop isn't huge but we managed to fit a lot of kitchen stuff inside. We spend most of our mornings unpacking boxes and making sure the stoves and mixers are looking alright on the counters. It gets quite noisy because Ajwa Road is always full of traffic and horns. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside and we have to clean the glass shelves twice a day. It’s just me and a couple of others here. We don't really do much advertising or anything. People usually just wander in because they saw our sign while going to the market. We have everything from small spoons to big pressure cookers squeezed into the corners. Sometimes the light in the back of the complex flickers a bit but we just get on with it. It’s a practical place for people living nearby to get what they need for their cooking. We don't have a corporate team or a fancy website to manage things. We just write down what we sell in a big ledger and keep going. It’s an honest way to spend the day. Parmanand Complex has a lot of shops but people seem to find us okay.
