This part of the city is always packed with people carrying sacks and carts moving back and forth. Our space isn't very large, but it’s filled with papers and whatever stock we happen to have that week. It’s an old building, so the walls have some character, if you want to call it that. I’ve been sitting at this desk for years, watching the street life go by. We deal with various goods, mostly trading stuff that comes through the nearby docks or markets. It’s a lot of phone calls and writing things down in ledgers. My day usually starts early because the market gets going before the sun is even fully up. We don’t have any fancy signs or a big marketing budget. Most people find us because they’ve been doing business in this lane for decades. It gets quite loud with the porters shouting and the trucks trying to squeeze through. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes everyone a bit grumpy, but we just keep at it. It’s a simple operation, really. Just a guy and his business in a busy corner of town. We just try to keep the accounts straight and keep the people happy. I usually head home after the main rush ends.
