Our place, Rubisco Proteins Private Limited, is tucked away in Village Bhilapur, which is part of the Dabhoi area in Vadodara. We are located near the Dhadhar River, so the surroundings are quite different from the middle of the city. You have to head towards C/O R S Patel to find us. Being out here by the river means things are a bit quieter, which suits the type of work we do with proteins. It is not always easy getting supplies out to a village location, but we make it work. The roads can be a bit dusty depending on the season. We have got a small team here who mostly come from the local area. Most mornings start early before it gets too hot. We focus on the production side of things rather than having a fancy storefront. The building is not anything special to look at, just a functional space where we get the job done. Sometimes the river levels change and that is something we have to keep an eye on. Being in Bhilapur means we are part of the local landscape. We are not some big corporation with a high-rise office.
