Ramesh Tea

Ramesh Tea has been sitting here near the Karjan Railway Station for a good while now. If you know Walia Chokdi, you know it gets pretty crowded with all the trucks and people catching trains. We mostly just focus on our daily work and making sure things are ready for whoever stops by. It isn't a huge place, but it gets the job done. Sometimes the noise from the station is a lot, but you get used to it after a few years. We handle a lot of tea, mostly just local stuff that people around here like to drink every morning. The floors need sweeping pretty often because of all the dust from the road, but that's just how it is in Karjan. My cousin helps out when it gets really busy, usually during the festival seasons when everyone is traveling. We don't have any fancy signs or anything like that. People just know where we are. We keep the tea in big sacks and weigh it out as needed. It's a simple life, really. We start early, usually before the first train rolls in, and we don't close up until the sun is well down. There’s always someone asking for a specific blend, so we keep a few different types on the shelves. It’s mostly just us doing our thing and trying to keep the place organized amidst the chaos of the Chokdi.
