Patel Ismail Davji

Down here at 245 Ajwa Road, you’ll find me, Ismail Davji Patel. I’ve been at this location for quite some time, and it’s become like a second home to me. Ajwa Road is always bustling, which I don’t mind too much, though the traffic can get a bit loud during the afternoons. My name is on the door, but it’s a pretty low-key setup. I don’t go in for anything too flashy. Usually, I’m just sitting at my desk dealing with whatever paperwork or visitors come through the door that day. Being at number 245 makes it easy for people to spot us if they’re driving by. I grew up around here, so I know most of the faces that pass by the window. I try to stay organized, but sometimes the desk gets a little buried under stuff, as happens when you're busy. People know me as Patel Ismail Davji, and I take that seriously. I’m not one for long speeches or trying to sell people things they don’t need. I just do what I do and hope it’s enough for the folks who rely on me. The shop is open most days, and I’m usually the one who turns the key in the lock first thing. It’s a steady life, and I wouldn’t trade being on Ajwa Road for much else. It keeps me connected to what’s happening in the neighborhood.
