New Kaya Beauty Parlour & Ladies Garments is sitting right on Ajwa Road at Mandvi 23. It is a bit of a mix here because we handle the beauty services and also sell clothes for women in the same space. It usually gets pretty crowded on the weekends when everyone is off work. We have the chairs set up for hair and makeup on one side, and then the racks of garments are squeezed onto the other side. It is not a huge place, but we managed to make it work over the years. Most of the ladies from around Mandvi come in when they have a wedding to go to or if they just need something new to wear for a festival. We have been at this number 23 address for a long time now. The traffic out on Ajwa Road is always something else, and you can hear the car horns all day long while we work. We try to keep the mirrors clean and the clothes folded, though sometimes things get a bit messy when a lot of customers are browsing at once. It is just how a local shop goes. We are not trying to be a high-end boutique. It is just a place to get ready or find an outfit without a lot of fuss. We know most of our regular customers by their names. Sometimes someone just stops in to chat while they look at the stock.
