We operate out of A/10 on Harni Road, right near the Tribune Road crossing. Being across from Vrundavan Township means there are always people moving around outside. At Mohanlal Tea Pvt Ltd, the smell of dried leaves is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We spend our days sorting through different batches and making sure the packaging is done right. It’s a family-style environment here, even if we are a private limited company on paper. The floor in the warehouse is concrete and a bit uneven in spots. We have an old table where we do the tasting, which is probably the best part of the job. Sector 20 D is a good area to be in because it feels like a real neighborhood. We don’t go in for big advertisements or glossy posters. Most of our visitors are just people from around the way or drivers picking up a load. Sometimes we run out of tape for the boxes and someone has to run down the street to the shop. It’s not a high-tech operation, but we know our way around a tea chest. The lighting in the back is a bit dim, so we usually keep the large doors open to let the sun in. It feels honest to work with something as basic as tea every single day. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for whoever needs them.
