Over at Plot No. 613 in the Gidc Ind. Estate, you’ll find Uma Laboratories. It’s a bit different from some of the heavy metal shops around us. We deal with more technical stuff, so the inside of our place is kept a bit cleaner, though it’s still an industrial setting. We have benches set up with equipment and containers everywhere. It’s not a fancy lab you’d see in a movie; it’s a working lab where people are busy testing and mixing things all day. Sometimes the air has a bit of a chemical smell, but that's just the nature of the work. We've got a team that knows their way around a beaker and a scale. We spend a lot of time looking at numbers and making sure things are within the right ranges. It can be tedious work, but someone has to do it. The plot itself is a standard size for this part of the estate. We use every inch of it for storage and workspace. Dealing with the paperwork for all the regulations is probably the hardest part of the job, but we stay on top of it. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. Most people find us because they need specific lab work done and they know we are here at Plot 613. It’s a steady environment, and we just try to keep things accurate and reliable for everyone who relies on us to get the testing right before the products go out.
