Patel Fasteners

Patel Fasteners is located over at Plot No. 925-2-3 in the Gidc Ind. Estate. If you walk by, you’ll probably hear the sound of metal hitting metal. We deal with all kinds of small parts like bolts and screws that hold bigger machines together. The workshop is full of bins and racks where we keep everything organized by size. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren't used to it. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and making sure the batches are right. It’s repetitive work, but it’s what we do. The industrial estate is a tough place to work during the summer because the heat gets trapped inside the unit, but we have a few fans going. Our staff is mostly local guys who have been with us for a few years. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People just come to the counter at the front of the plot when they need something specific. We try to keep the stock levels up so we don't run out of the common sizes. The floor is always a bit oily, and there’s always a crate that needs moving. It’s just a basic hardware and fastener shop where we focus on the parts. Nothing too complicated, just heavy bins and lots of counting every single afternoon of the week.
