Mahavir Electronics & Controls is tucked away in Subhanpura. It’s a quiet enough area until the school nearby lets out in the afternoon. We have a small shop floor that’s usually filled with boxes of different components and wires. It’s not a fancy showroom. We’ve got a few benches in the back where we do most of the actual work. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three of us are trying to fix different things at once. We’ve had the same sign out front for ages, and it’s started to fade a bit in the sun. We don't mind much as long as people can still read the name. Most of our day is spent testing circuits or looking through catalogs for specific parts someone asked for. We keep a pot of tea going most of the time. If someone comes in with a problem, we take a look and tell them straight if it’s worth fixing or not. We aren’t interested in wasting anyone’s time. Sometimes we stay late when a big job comes in, but usually, we like to head home while it’s still light out. The neighborhood has changed a lot since we opened, with more shops popping up around us. We just stick to our corner and keep doing what we know. It's a living, and we enjoy the people who stop by to chat.
