M K Jani

This is the place of M K Jani at 29 Ajwa Road. We are inside Nirman House, which is right near the Navjivan Post Office. Having the post office so close is actually very handy for us. I spend a lot of time here every day. The building has its quirks, like the lights that flicker sometimes or the door that sticks when it’s humid. But it has character. I’ve worked in this area for a long time and I know the people who run the shops nearby. My office is where I handle all the daily business. It’s not a big corporate setup. It’s just me and a couple of others trying to keep up with the work. We get a lot of people walking in because they were already at the post office and saw our sign. We keep things very informal here. You can just walk in and we will see if we can help you out. There’s no need for appointments usually. I like that it’s a bit relaxed. We have some old furniture that’s been here since I started. It’s comfortable and it gets the job done. Every morning I make a list of what needs to happen, and we just work through it until the day is over. It is a very normal, local way of life. It’s not flashy but we are here every day and we do what we say we will.
