Kidzee Makarpura Baby Steps

Kidzee Makarpura Baby Steps is tucked away in Om Bunglow here in the Makarpura area of Vadodara. Since we are in a residential-style building, it feels a bit more like a home than a big institution. We mostly deal with very young kids, so things can get pretty loud and messy during the day. There is always paint on someone’s shirt or a bit of sand from the play area tracked onto the floor. We try to keep things organized, but with toddlers, that’s usually a losing battle. The staff here are mostly mothers from the neighborhood who wanted to work with children. We spend a lot of time tied up in small tasks, like helping with snacks or making sure everyone takes their nap. It’s a busy place from early morning until the parents come to pick them up in the afternoon. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything corporate like that. Usually, if you come by, you’ll find us sitting on the floor with the kids or cleaning up after a lunch break. The walls are covered in drawings that the kids made, and we don’t really worry if they aren’t perfectly straight. It’s just a practical place for little ones to be while their parents are at work. Vadodara can be hot, so we keep the fans going and make sure the kids drink plenty of water. It's just simple, daily work for us.
