Khokhar Gulamnabi Umaraomiya

This is the place of Khokhar Gulamnabi Umaraomiya. You can find me right at 1 Fatepura. It’s a busy corner, and the traffic never seems to stop during the daylight hours. My family has been around this part of town for many years. The building itself isn't much to look at from the outside, just a plain front with a heavy wooden door that sticks in the monsoon. Inside, the ceiling is high and it stays cool even when the sun is beating down on the street. I have a few wooden chairs for visitors and a big table that’s covered in ledgers and pens. Sometimes my nephew comes by to help me organize things, but mostly it's just me handling the daily tasks. I like being at the entrance of Fatepura because I see everyone coming and going. The tea seller across the street knows exactly how I like my chai, and he brings it over around 11 o’clock every morning. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy to attract attention. People just know where I am because I’ve been sitting in this same spot for such a long time. The walls are a pale blue that’s starting to peel in the corners, but I don't really mind. It feels like a real place where work gets done without any fuss. Fatepura is a tight-knit community, and I'm happy to have my space right here.
