Khatri Mohammedji U

I’m Mohammedji U Khatri. My place is in Vadodara, specifically at the 14th Cross, 2nd Stage. It’s tucked away behind Nyaymandir. If you don't know the area well, you might get a bit lost in the narrow alleys. I’ve lived in Vadodara my whole life, and this neighborhood is one of the busiest parts of the city. Finding a parking spot near the 14th Cross is nearly impossible after ten in the morning, so I usually walk or take a cycle from my home. My workspace is small and filled with the smell of old paper and ink. It’s a bit cluttered, I’ll admit. I have stacks of books and files reaching up toward the ceiling. The light comes in through a small window that faces the back of the Nyaymandir building. It’s a strange view, but I like the perspective it gives me. People come to me when they need help with things they can't figure out on their own. I don’t have a fancy secretary or a waiting room with magazines. You just walk in, and if I’m busy, you sit on the stool by the door. The floor tiles are mismatched because we had to repair them after a pipe leak years ago. It’s those little things that make the place feel like mine. Behind Nyaymandir, life moves at its own pace, and I’m just trying to keep up with the work on my desk every day.
