Jyoti Nursery & Farm

Jyoti Nursery & Farm is out on Vip Road, 8th Main in Attur Layout. You’ll see us right opposite Santoshi Nagar. It’s a green spot in the middle of a lot of dust and construction. I spend most of my time outside with the plants. My hands are usually dirty, and I’m often wearing a hat to stay out of the sun. This isn't a corporate farm. It's just a place where we grow things and hope they turn out well. We have all sorts of stuff, from small flowering plants to some fruit trees. Sometimes the weather is against us, like when it rains too much or not enough. That's just part of the life. We don't have a fancy office. There's a small shed where we keep the tools and some seeds. I have a couple of guys who help with the heavy lifting and the watering. We don't use much machinery. Most of it is done by hand. People come by looking for something to put in their balcony or garden. I try to tell them what will grow and what won't, based on what I’ve seen work here. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the noise from Vip Road. We've been here for a while and the plants have grown up with us. It's a lot of work, but seeing things grow is nice. I also keep a small selection of pots.
