Jai Sainath Tea Store

I start my day very early at Jai Sainath Tea Store, usually before the sun is even fully up. Being on Palace Road means there is always someone passing by, even in the quiet hours of the morning. I get the stove going and start boiling the water with the tea leaves and plenty of sugar. The smell of the ginger and cardamom fills up the small space pretty quickly once it starts to bubble. It is a very basic setup, just a counter and a few benches where people can sit for a bit and talk. I don't have a big menu, just good hot tea and maybe some biscuits if people want something to eat. Most of my customers are the same people every day, like the rickshaw drivers or the other shop owners nearby who need a cup to start their shift. We talk about whatever is in the news or just how the day is going for everyone. My hands are always busy washing out the small glasses or pouring tea from the kettle. It gets quite hot standing near the heat all day, especially in the summer months, but I am used to it by now. The tea store isn't anything fancy to look at, just a regular spot on the road where you can get a quick drink. I keep things clean enough and just focus on making the tea right every time someone asks.
