Hotel Chandan Mahal

Hotel Chandan Mahal is right in the middle of Sayajigunj. It’s an old building, so the rooms aren't like those modern glass towers you see in the bigger cities. We have simple beds, ceiling fans, and some rooms have air conditioning if the guest really wants it. Most people staying here are just passing through for work or visiting relatives nearby. The lobby is quite small, usually just a desk and a couple of chairs where the morning paper sits for anyone to read. We don't have a big fancy restaurant inside, but we can usually get tea and some basic breakfast sorted if you ask us early enough. The stairs are a bit steep, so we always tell people to be careful with their heavy bags. Sayajigunj is always noisy with rickshaws and people talking, so it’s never truly quiet here, but that's just part of being in this part of town. We try to keep the sheets clean and the water running in the bathrooms. Sometimes the plumbing acts up because it’s an old place, but we fix it as soon as a guest tells us. It’s not a luxury stay by any means, just a place to put your head down for a night or two without spending too much money. We see a lot of students and sales people coming in and out. It’s a family-run thing, so someone is almost always at the desk even late at night.
