Our place, Horizon Batteries, is situated in Vachchhesar Market Yard at unit number five. We handle all sorts of batteries for cars, trucks, and even the ones people use at home for their inverters when the power goes out. The market yard is always full of heavy vehicles and noise, which makes sense since that’s where all the business happens. We spend a lot of time lifting heavy batteries and testing them with our meters to see if they can still hold a charge. It’s dirty work and our hands are usually stained by the end of the day. We have a small area where we keep the new stock and a corner for the old ones that need to be recycled. Customers usually pull their vehicles right up to the front so we can swap out the old battery for a new one quickly. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some posters from the battery companies on the walls. It gets quite hot in the yard during the summer months, but we have a small fan that helps a bit. We’ve been here long enough that most of the drivers in the area know where to find us. We don't do much fancy talking, just check the voltage and tell you if you need a replacement or just a good recharge. It is a simple setup but it works for what we do.
