This facility is located right on National Highway-8. We are situated very close to the Nandanvan Farm, which is the main landmark for this stretch of the road. It is a very large site and working here involves a lot of the same routines every day. You see the same people at the security gate and in the loading bays every morning. Since we are right on the national highway, there is a constant flow of traffic going past us. It is a major route for trucks and buses, so the noise is always there in the background. I work mostly in the office area where I handle the paperwork for all the shipments coming in and going out. It involves a lot of logging and checking numbers against the delivery notes. The heat can be quite difficult for the drivers, so we have a small area where they can sit in the shade while their trucks are being loaded. The surrounding area has some greenery like the farm next door, but it is mostly becoming more industrial as time goes on. We do not have a shop where you can walk in and buy things. Everything is handled as large-scale distribution. My commute takes me about half an hour on the bus. Most of the people working here are from the towns nearby. It is a busy place and we just focus on making sure the daily targets are reached.
