Our place is down in Makarpura at 900/2 B. If you know the industrial area, you know it’s mostly warehouses and small workshops like ours. We spend our days working on instruments, things like gauges and meters that need fixing or checking. It’s very precise work, so we have to keep the bench clean even if the rest of the shop gets a bit dusty from the trucks outside. Makarpura is always loud with the sound of machinery. We’ve got all our tools lined up on the walls. Most of the time, we are hunched over a piece of equipment with a magnifying glass. It’s just a couple of us here. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the back working. We’ve been at this address for a long time. The building is simple, just concrete and metal. We handle stuff for the other factories nearby. They bring us their broken tools and we see what we can do. It’s not the kind of job that gets you famous, but it’s important for the machines to run right. We just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes it takes all day to get one meter balanced, but that’s just how it goes. We stay until the light fades and then lock up for the night. It's a steady, quiet life here.
