We are down in the basement of the Bhagyodaya Complex on Vadodara Drive In Road. It’s right near the Krishna Cinema. Being in a basement means it stays a bit cooler than the street, which is nice during the summer months when it's really hot outside. But it also means we don't get much sunlight during the day. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, filled with fasteners of every size you can imagine. Nuts, bolts, washers—it’s all there, even if it looks a bit disorganized to an outsider. We know exactly which bin holds what. The Drive In Road area is always busy, especially when a movie is letting out at the cinema nearby. You can hear the muffled sounds of the traffic from upstairs. We spend our days counting out pieces and bagging them for customers. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it needs to be done right. The complex is an older one, so the hallways are a bit dim. We have a small desk where we do the billing, and there’s usually a radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. People come to us because they know we’re in this basement and we have what they need for their construction or repair jobs. It’s not a glamorous business, but fasteners are important for everything. We just keep the bins full and the customers moving.
