Out here in Shirola Village, things move a bit slower than they do in Vadodara city. We are right near the Government High School. You can hear the teachers and the students throughout the day, which gives the place a nice feel. We handle beverages, mostly focusing on getting crates out to the local shops in Dabhoi Taluka. It’s a lot of physical labor. My arms are usually tired by three in the afternoon from loading the small tempos. We don't have a big fancy office, just a desk in the corner and a lot of floor space for the bottles. The village atmosphere means everyone knows what we are doing. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit outside in the shade for a bit until it comes back. It’s not a high-stress environment, but we do have to be careful with the glass. Breaking a crate is a bad start to any day. We’ve been part of this community for a while now, and we like it that way. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide drinks to the local area and make sure the deliveries happen on time. It’s a straightforward life, and the work is predictable. We open the shutters early, do our tasks, and go home to our families when the sun sets.
