Amit Nursery & Farm

Amit Nursery & Farm is located right on Vasna Road, not too far from Sainath Park. If you are driving by, you will see the green mesh and all the pots lined up along the edge. It is a very different kind of work compared to an office. Our hands are usually dirty from soil, and there is always a hose running somewhere to keep the saplings from drying out in the sun. We have all sorts of plants sitting in rows—some are small starters in plastic bags and others are bigger shrubs in ceramic pots. The smell of wet earth is always there, which is nice. It is a lot of physical labor, moving heavy bags of fertilizer or shifting the larger trees when we need to reorganize the space. We don't have a formal reception area; we usually just talk to people while we are out among the plants. Sometimes birds get into the shade net and stay for a while. We follow the rhythm of the weather more than anything else. If it’s a hot day, we spend most of our time in the shade. Near Sainath Park, the road gets quite busy in the evenings, so that is when we see more people stopping by. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. We just show people what we have and tell them how much water it needs. It is a simple life here on Vasna Road, focused on keeping things growing and manageable.
