Synyik Agro Producer Company Limited is way up in Nacho, which is part of Upper Subansiri. Our office is right there in the village, near the Lepajaring area. It’s a long way from the big towns, so we have to be quite independent. We formed this producer company so we could help each other with our harvests. It’s a quiet life up here, and we like it that way. Most of our members are small farmers who have been working this land for generations. We don’t have a lot of fancy technology. Our office is just a small room with some basic furniture where we keep the company records. We meet there to talk about what we’re going to plant and how we’re going to get it down to the markets. The terrain in this part of Arunachal Pradesh is quite steep, so transport is always our biggest headache. We aren't looking to become some huge corporation. We just want a way to keep our farming business steady. It’s just us local folks doing the best we can with what we have. We don't have any big speeches to give. We just focus on the soil and the crops and making sure the paperwork is done right. It’s a practical setup that serves the people living right here in Nacho.
