Rijo Farmers' Producer Company Limited is located in Tamaripa village. We are over at Sri Soda Game’s place, room number Lr-50/93. This is in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. Tamaripa is a small village, and we are quite far from the main cities. Out here, farming is just what people do to live. We formed this producer company because we wanted to have a way to organize our work better. It’s a group of local people who know the land well. We don't have any big marketing budgets or professional writers. We just write down what we need to do and try to get it done. The hills in Upper Subansiri are beautiful, but they make moving goods a real chore. We spend a lot of time worrying about the roads and the weather. When it rains heavily, everything slows down. Our meetings are held right there in the village, usually just sitting around and talking about the current harvest. We are not trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the farmers in Tamaripa have a way to get their stuff out to the rest of the state. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the sun goes down. Most of us have lived here our whole lives and we don't plan on going anywhere else.
