Malady Primary School

If you go to the Kannukere area in Maladi, near Tekkatte, you’ll find our primary school. It’s a small spot in the Udupi district, 576231. We’re right there in the village, surrounded by a lot of greenery. It’s a peaceful place to be, honestly. Malady Primary School is where the youngest kids from the neighborhood start out. We only have a handful of classrooms because it’s a small community. The building is old, with those traditional roof tiles you see around here. It gets very lush and green when it rains, but sometimes the playground gets a bit muddy. We don’t have a lot of fancy stuff. There are some old maps on the walls and wooden desks that have been used by many generations. The children are mostly from the farming families around here. They come in early, and we’re usually done by the afternoon. It’s a quiet life. We don’t have big signs or advertisements. People just know we’re here. Sometimes you can hear the birds more than the students. We just focus on teaching the kids how to read and write and do basic math. It’s a very local feel. We like it that way. Most of us have lived in Udupi our whole lives, so we know how things work in a small village school like this. You can often see parents stopping by to chat with the staff at the end of the day.
