Vishva Nath Farmer Producer Company Limited

This company is based in Salumber, specifically around Jalara. Vishva Nath and his family, like his father Dhool Shankar, have been here a long time. We decided to name it Vishva Nath Farmer Producer Company Limited because he’s one of the main people keeping us organized. Salumber is a nice place but farming here has its own set of problems. Sometimes there's not enough water, or the seeds don't sprout like they should. We joined up so we could share the risks and the rewards. It’s basically a neighborhood group that became a legal company. We don't really do branding or anything like that. We just grow our crops and try to find the best way to sell them without losing money. Our office is just a room with some files and a few chairs. Most of the real business happens out in the fields or by the road while we're loading up trucks. We've got a lot of different crops depending on the time of year. We try to help the smaller farmers in our group get the same prices as the bigger ones. It feels fair that way. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure our village stays on its feet. If the crops are good, we're happy. If not, we sit together and plan for the next season. That's just how it goes for us in Salumber. We take the good with the bad every year.
