Tirupati Trading

We operate Tirupati Trading out of stall number 26 in the Savina Krishi Upaj Mandi. If you have never been to the Mandi, it is a very busy and loud place, especially if you get there before the sun is even fully up. There are trucks everywhere and the air is thick with the smell of grain and dust. Our work is pretty straightforward but physically demanding. We spend our time checking the quality of the goods coming in and making sure the weights are correct on the scales. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, mostly long lists written by hand in big ledgers that have been around for a while. The floor of our unit is almost always covered in a layer of dust or stray seeds, no matter how often we try to tidy up. We have been here at the Mandi for a long time, so we know most of the drivers and the other traders by name. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit or sit in an air-conditioned office. We wear old clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. Dealing with agricultural products means you are always at the mercy of the seasons and the market prices, which can be stressful sometimes. But it is what we know how to do. We just focus on getting the daily trading done and keeping the business steady.
