Star Transport & Contractors

If you head down toward the Old Railway Station, you’ll find us at Thokar Chauraha. Star Transport & Contractors has been operating from this spot near the Kanchan Weighbridge for quite a while. It’s a loud area with the trains and the heavy trucks coming to get weighed, but we like it here. It’s a real working part of town. We handle a mix of transport and contracting work, so there’s always something going on. One minute we’re talking to a driver and the next we’re looking at a site plan. It’s not a quiet desk job, that’s for sure. The office is plain and we usually have a few people hanging around talking shop. We don’t have any polished sales pitches or glossy brochures. We just do the work that comes our way. Being near the weighbridge is handy because we can keep an eye on things easily. Sometimes the traffic at Thokar Chauraha gets a bit crazy in the evenings, but we just work around it. Our team is local and most of us have been in this trade since we were young. We know the roads and we know how to get things done without making a big fuss. It’s just how we operate. We’re usually there from morning until late, just keeping the wheels turning and making sure the jobs get finished. It’s basic but it works.
