Sim Sim

Sim Sim is tucked away on Kamla Nagar Road, near Gulab Bagh. It’s at number 37. The area is quite nice because of the gardens nearby. We get a mix of people coming in—locals from Kamla Nagar and some folks who are just out for a walk. The shop isn’t very big, but we make the most of the space we have. We’ve got shelves lining the walls and a counter near the front. We named it Sim Sim because it sounded catchy, but really, we’re just a simple local business. We don’t have any big corporate goals. We just want to open up every day and serve the people who walk in. The mornings are usually the quietest time, which gives us a chance to tidy up and get things ready. By the afternoon, it picks up a bit. We enjoy the location because it’s not as frantic as the main city center. You can actually hear yourself think here. We’ve been here for a while now and have become part of the neighborhood. Most of our customers live just a few streets away. We don’t do anything too complicated. We just sell what people need and try to be fair about it. We keep a small notebook where we write down things we need to order. It’s not digital or anything, just pen and paper. We like knowing our customers by their first names. It’s a small operation, just us on Kamla Nagar Road.
