Shrinath Somani

Down near Delhi Gate in Nehru Bazar, things are always moving fast. Shrinath Somani is located right in the thick of it. This area is packed with shops and people, and it’s been our home for a long time. It’s a bit of a maze getting through the market sometimes, but that’s just part of the charm of working in this part of town. We don’t have a massive warehouse or anything; we just work out of our space here, dealing with the daily ins and outs of the business. It’s a lot of face-to-face interaction since so many people are walking by every minute. You hear the sounds of the market all day long, from the vendors calling out to the scooters squeezing through small gaps. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it. We handle things as they come, whether it's a small order or something a bit bigger. We’ve known some of our neighbors for decades now. That’s how it is in Nehru Bazar; you build relationships over time. We don’t spend money on big ads or trying to look bigger than we are. We just open up the shutters every morning and get to work. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to catch up on. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We just focus on doing our bit in the local trade.
