Shrinath Somani Transport Co is located right at 8 Nehru Bazar. It’s a lively spot to be in, right in the heart of the market area. We’ve been operating from this little corner for quite a while now. The space isn't huge, but it's enough for what we do. Every morning starts with a lot of noise as the market wakes up. We mostly deal with local traders who need their products moved out to different regions. There's a lot of back and forth, checking on trucks and talking to the helpers. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to get through the day's list of deliveries. Sometimes the traffic in Nehru Bazar makes it hard to move, so we have to plan everything very carefully or wait until the crowds thin out. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here by name. It’s a tight community. If someone needs a truck, they just come over to number 8 and ask for us. We keep our records in big books and try to stay on top of the paperwork. It’s dusty and loud and sometimes the heat is a bit much, but it’s our business and we’re proud of it. We don’t do any big advertising. If we do a decent job, people come back, and that’s how we’ve kept going all these years despite all the changes around the city.
