Our office is situated near the Pratap Nagar Central School Road, right by the Pratap Nagar Bypass Choraha. It is a very busy intersection and there is always a lot of noise from the traffic passing through to the bypass. Being near a school means we have to be extra careful in the mornings and afternoons when the kids are around. The office itself is quite plain, just a few files stacked up and some maps pinned to the walls. We have been here for a good while and the locals know where to find us. We don't do any big advertising or have a fancy website. Most of our work comes from people walking in or calling us because they saw our trucks. Dealing with freight is a lot of work and sometimes it gets stressful when a truck is stuck in traffic or a driver is sick. We try to keep things moving as best as we can. My brother and I manage the bookings and we have a few regular drivers who are very reliable. The heat in the summer can be tough since we don't have air conditioning, but we have a good ceiling fan that keeps the air moving. It is a simple life, really. We spend our days talking to customers and making sure the loads are secured properly before they head out onto the highway. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
