You can find me, Parvez Khan, over at 48-B in the Ambamata Scheme. We are situated right by Hotel Rani Palace, which is a big help because otherwise, people might get a bit lost in the winding lanes around here. This area of Udaipur has a specific feel to it, a mix of people staying at the hotels and those of us who live and work here every day. My space isn't huge, but it serves the purpose. I usually get in around nine and stay until the evening light starts to fade. It is a busy neighborhood, especially during the tourist season when the hotel next door is full of visitors. I’ve spent a lot of years in this building. The walls have been painted a few different colors over time, but the work inside doesn't change much. I don’t believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. We just handle our tasks and try to stay organized. It’s a practical life. Sometimes I step out to the local tea stall nearby to take a break and talk to the neighbors. Everyone knows everyone else around the Ambamata Scheme. It feels like a small village inside the city. That’s how I prefer it. It is comfortable and familiar, and people know they can find me here if they need anything handled properly without any big fuss.
