Khubilal Goutamkumar Khokhawat is our family business, and we are based in Yard 307 of the Hiran Magri Krishi Mandi. The name is a bit of a mouthful, but it represents the different generations who have put their time into this place. Yard 307 is where you’ll find us most days, surrounded by rows of bags and the general chaos of the mandi. It’s not a quiet place by any means; there’s always the sound of shutters opening, trucks backing up, and people discussing prices. We keep our operation very simple and don't spend money on things we don't need. Our office is just a corner of the yard with a couple of chairs and a heavy metal safe for the records. We’ve seen the market change over the years, with new faces coming and going, but our spot in Yard 307 remains the same. Most of our day is spent making sure the goods are handled properly and that the farmers get a fair deal. We aren't interested in being a huge corporation; we just want to run our business the way we always have. It’s a lot of physical work and long hours, especially during the peak harvest times when everyone is tired and the yard is full. We just take it one day at a time and keep our heads down.
