Jaisamand Kisan Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Piladar in the Sarada area of Udaipur. It’s run by us, the local farmers, with help from the son of Kishan Lal Audichya. We named it after the area we all know so well. Farming in Udaipur can be quite a challenge, especially with the hills and the water situation. We thought it was time we started working together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It’s not a polished operation. We meet up in Piladar to discuss how to sell our produce or what kind of fertilizers we should be looking at. Most of us have been on these lands for generations. We don't have a marketing department or any of that. We just have our hands and our knowledge of the soil. When we need to do the business side of things, we go to the address in Sarada and get through the papers as best as we can. It’s honest work, and we’re proud of it. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India. We just want to make sure the farmers around Jaisamand get a fair deal. You won't find any corporate talk here. We’re just the same people you see at the local village markets. We take it one season at a time and try to look out for one another in this group.
