Heera Lal Pagaria

My shop is tucked away at number 17 in Sindhi Bazar. If you know the area, you know Kamal Gali can be a bit of a maze. It is one of those narrow lanes where two people can barely walk side by side if someone is coming the other direction with a bicycle. I have been here for years, and I’ve seen the market change quite a bit, but the Gali stays the same. It is always shaded because the buildings are so close together, which is nice when it is hot outside. Inside, it is mostly shelves and boxes. I don't really bother with fancy decorations because there isn't much room for them anyway. Usually, I’m here from early morning until the market starts to close up in the evening. Most of my neighbors are old friends, and we spend a lot of time chatting when things are slow. You won't find a sign with bright lights or anything, just a small board. I mostly rely on people knowing where I am from word of mouth. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost and have to call me from the main road. I just tell them to look for the old blue door. It’s a bit cramped, but it has been my home for work for a long time and I wouldn't know what to do with a big modern office.
