People ask why we stayed in Toran Bavri all these years and honestly it's just where we ended up. The office isn't much to look at. There is an old wooden desk that has been here since my father's time and the drawers always stick when it gets humid. We spend most of our mornings drinking tea and looking at the clipboards. The trucks come and go from the yard and there is always someone complaining about a flat tire or the price of diesel. It’s just how it is in this business. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us handling the phones and the paperwork. The walls could use a new coat of paint but we never seem to find the time to actually do it. Outside, the street is always busy with people going to work. You get used to the noise of the traffic after a while. Sometimes a driver will bring back stories from the road about a blocked pass or a heavy rainstorm. We just listen and make sure the next load is ready to go. There aren't any fancy computers here, just the ledgers we've always used. It’s a bit messy and loud but it’s our corner of the world. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just Gaur Transport Co doing what we do every day. The fan wobbles a bit but it keeps us cool enough when the heat gets bad in the afternoon. It gets the job done.
