Gamdiya Bartan Store

The shop is located right in the thick of things at Mandi Ki Naal. If you walk down this way, you’ll see stacks of stainless steel pots and heavy brass items sitting near the entrance. Gamdiya Bartan Store has been part of this street for a long time now. We usually open up early when the other vendors are just starting to move their carts. The shelves inside are packed from floor to ceiling with plates, tiffins, and spoons. Sometimes the light is a bit dim in the back corners, but we know exactly where every single lid is kept. Customers come in looking for specific sizes of cookers or maybe just a new tea strainer because their old one broke. It gets noisy with the metal clinking together whenever someone wants to see a different set of bowls. The floor is concrete and shows some wear from all the heavy crates being moved around over the years. We don’t have fancy displays or bright lights like the big malls. It is just a place where you get what you need for the kitchen. Most days, we spend our time unpacking new arrivals or dusting off the larger stock that sits on the higher shelves. People from the nearby colonies stop by because they know the shop is always open. It’s just a regular business doing what it does every day in this part of town.
