Dwarkesh Bricks Co.

Up in Sector-11 of Hiran Magri, near the Shiv Mandir, is where you’ll find us. Dwarkesh Bricks Co. has been on this plot for a good amount of time. We get a lot of people stopping by after they visit the temple. The dust from the brick-making covers everything, so my shoes are always red or brown. We have a few different piles of bricks depending on what people are looking for. It’s not a polished business. The gate squeaks and the office is just a small room with a fan and some old chairs. I spend my days coordinating with the drivers and making sure the raw materials show up on time. Sometimes the soil we get isn't quite right, and that’s a whole problem to solve. We just handle it as it comes. It’s a lot of manual labor, stacking and unstacking. I’ve got a couple of helpers who know the routine well. We don't have a big mission statement. We just make bricks and sell them to whoever needs them for their project. The afternoon sun can be pretty brutal on Plot 733, so we usually take a break around then. It’s a simple life, and the work is hard, but it’s what we know how to do. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just supply the materials and keep the records in an old notebook on the desk.
