Chandarlok Transport Co

If you come looking for D-49 in the Pratap Nagar Transport Nagar area, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s a small office but it’s ours. We have a heavy iron door that squeaks every time someone walks in. Chandarlok Transport Co has been operating out of this room for quite a while now. The walls are covered with old maps and notes scribbled on scraps of paper. We don't have a lot of space so everything is a bit cramped. There is a small television in the corner that we keep on for the news but nobody really watches it. We’re too busy dealing with the drivers and the loaders. Sometimes the line of trucks outside gets so long that the neighbors start complaining but we try to keep things moving as fast as we can. It’s a lot of manual work and we get our hands dirty every day. The sun beats down on the roof in the summer making it like an oven inside but we have a couple of ceiling fans that do their best. We’ve known some of our drivers since they were young boys starting out as helpers. Now they have their own families. It feels good to see them doing well. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. There is no secret to it and no special way of working. We just show up and start the day. Most days we stay late.
