If you head down Hospital Road into Hazareshwar Colony, you’ll find us at number 15. It’s a small place, nothing like those big salons you see in the malls. We have a few chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years, and the mirrors always seem to need a quick wipe from the hairspray. It’s usually pretty lively in here, especially on the weekends when everyone in the colony decides they need a trim at the exact same time. We spend our days chatting with the ladies who come in, hearing about their families and what’s happening in the neighborhood. The floor is covered in hair more often than not, and we’re constantly sweeping it up only to have more fall a few minutes later. It’s a friendly spot where you don’t have to act fancy. Sometimes the water heater takes a minute to warm up, and the coffee we offer is just the basic stuff we make in the back room. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of our customers by their first names and how they like their hair done without even asking. It’s a practical little shop, and we just enjoy the routine of it all. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; people just see our sign on Hospital Road and walk in. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, one haircut at a time, and keeping the conversation going.
