Akshat Hair Cutting

I have been cutting hair on Maldas Street for quite some time now at Akshat Hair Cutting. It is a small shop, just one room, right at the start of the lane. I have my main barber chair which is quite old but still very comfortable. My tools like the scissors, combs, and clippers are all laid out on the shelf under the mirror. It is a very simple place. I don’t do anything like fancy spa treatments or expensive hair coloring. It’s just basic haircuts and shaves for the men who live around here. The street outside is always noisy with people walking by and scooters zooming past. Inside, I usually have a small radio playing some old songs. On the weekends, there is often a bit of a wait, so men just sit on the wooden bench I have outside the door and talk to each other. I don’t have any fancy signs, just the name written on the glass. I do all the work myself, from the cutting to the sweeping. It’s a lot of standing all day, but I’m used to it. The floor is usually covered in hair by mid-afternoon, but I try to clean it up when I get a break between customers. People come here because they know what to expect and they like that I’ve been in the same spot for so many years. It’s a traditional barber shop with no extra fuss.
