Aac Mill

Our mill is situated at 1110 Vellore Road in the Sevoor area. It’s a fairly quiet spot compared to the city, but the mill itself makes plenty of noise once we get the machines started in the morning. We deal with the processing side of things, so there is always a bit of dust in the air and the smell of the material we are working with. The yard is quite large because we need space for the trucks to turn around when they come in to drop off loads or pick up the finished product. We have a small office near the main gate where we handle the logs and the weight receipts. It’s a simple building with concrete floors and high ceilings to keep things a bit cooler during the hot months. The road outside can get busy with heavy vehicles, but we are used to the rumble. Most of the people working here live nearby in Sevoor, so we all know each other well. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment in the office, just a phone and a desk that has seen better days. We focus on keeping the machinery oiled and running smoothly because if something breaks, the whole day stops. It’s a lot of hard, physical work but we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now. Sometimes we go to the small tea shop down Vellore Road to get away from the mill noise for a few minutes.
