Yelagiri Collective Farmer Producer

Up in the Tirupathur Taluk area, specifically in Rachamangalam, you’ll find us at the Yelagiri Collective Farmer Producer. Our main spot is 258, Eri Vattam, right in Aneri Village. It is a very rural area, which makes sense for what we do. We work with a lot of different farmers from the surrounding villages. Most days start pretty early because that’s when everyone is out in the fields. We spend a lot of time in the office talking about yields and what the collective needs for the next month. The building is pretty basic, just a place to keep our records and meet up. There are usually a few motorbikes parked outside. It can get pretty dusty since the roads aren't all paved around here, but nobody really minds. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us sorting through some papers or drinking water to stay cool. It is a group effort here and everyone chips in where they can. We try to keep track of what all the different members are doing, which is a big task sometimes. The village life is slow but the work is constant. We just focus on getting the produce from the farms to the right places without making things too complicated for the people involved. It is a good way to live and we are glad to be part of the community here in Aneri.
